OSR Design was established in 2017 by Chantelle Henocq. Chantelle has over 28 years' experience in design; before opening her own studio, she gained wealth of experience at three top London graphic design agencies with a diverse mix of clients ranging from Mappin & Webb, TK Maxx, Royal Mail, Guys & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust to Walkers and Durex!
Chantelle took the plunge by going freelance and moving out of London to Somerset with her husband, artist Simon Lee Dicker, where they set up the artist-led organisation OSR Projects CIC. The name OSR is taken from their studio in West Coker, Somerset: the Old School Room, built in 1850 and formerly the village school.
In line with her role as co-founder of OSR Projects CIC, Chantelle’s graphic design work now focuses on the cultural sector, working regularly with galleries and artists. Recent work includes branding the Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Somerset Art Works and Spark Somerset, Somerset Councils voluntary sector and exhibition booklets for Hestercombe Gallery. Chantelle’s extensive experience with large scale corporate and public sector clients has supported her in producing ambitious work for independent artists including Tania Kovats, Laura Hopes and Jack Young.
Chantelle’s core design services include branding, exhibition graphics and publications. If you require any aspect of design work for your project then please do get in touch.
What clients are saying about OSR Design
I have had the pleasure of working directly with Chantelle on two graphic design, publishing and printing projects over recent years and also to have had my artwork featured in publications that she has designed. The first major project she worked on for me was a Heritage Lottery funded project disseminating research and archive material around the Portland stadium bowl in connection with b-side festival. Chantelle guided with me through all stages of the design of the publication, working sensitively with archival material and vividly bringing it to life. The second project she supported me on was the design and printing of my PhD thesis which I had envisioned as 10 separate booklets contained together in a box specifically designed to hold them. This is an unusual form for such a thesis to take but I was confident that Chantelle would bring the design ideas that I had to life as well as managing the complex task of arranging 60,000 words of text. Chantelle somehow always intuitively gets to the heart of the artworks that she is engaged in and to the message that I’m trying to convey. She is incredibly organised with a brilliant visual sensibility and understands the necessity and quality of each project according to its own budget. I would really recommend anyone working on this field that they bring to Chantelle into their project.

The Museum was delighted with the rebrand that OSR Design provided for us. We have had great feedback from the Trustees and members of the Society who felt that it was a simple but effective design looking a great deal more professional without being fussy. I would be pleased to work with OSR Design with similar projects in the future.

OSR Design worked on a complete rebrand for the Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton. The gallery received Arts Council England and EDDC funding to expand and this was seen as an ideal time not only to relaunch but to rebrand the gallery. The results from OSR Design were stunning, from presentation to completion the work far excelled what we’d expected, summing up our aims and values in a stylish, professional and yet accessible way. The resulting branding was able to be adapted for use throughout the gallery from outside signage to mugs. The branding is something people want to be associated with and are buying in to with the products in our shop.

OSR Design were able to work with great flexibility with our constantly changing priorities and yet kept focused on the brief throughout. I would not hesitate to work with them again.
OSR Design designed branding, a new website and a flyer for us. Chantelle is a pleasure to work with and we were delighted with her creative ideas, especially her use of images and colour. Chantelle fully met our brief for a beautiful website that really conveys the personality of our business.

OSR Design has conjured up some splendid design work for us at The Theatrical Guild. It has really boosted the status of our charity…
OSR Design’s work is always imaginative with a high artistic standard and balances sensitively between text and image. They can work with the simplest or most complex briefs, always demonstrating an excellent understanding of what message and audience the client needs to address with the finished product. Landscape + Arts Network Services have used them successfully for limited publications communicating to a niche audience, as well as for mass distribution aimed at general public. The result is a clean, sophisticated product that is immediately accessible to the reader.
